Hi Fari Anne – the goal is once a day in one sitting but if your child cannot sit through the session, you can split up the flashcards and show them over several sessions in one day.
-
Shichida has not specified the number of times to show it but Heguru mentions something to the effect of 4 times.
-
However, if the goal is to teach the information and help it stay in your child’s memory, it is important to come back to the same series of flashcards to refresh the memory after a period of time has passed, e.g. three months, six months, one year.
-
Both A4 and A5 sizes work fine and have been used in RBE classes.

You can read more about flashcards use here: https://rightbrainchild.com/2021/07/10/how-to-use-flashcards-in-early-learning/
Yes! These are great visualization activities! Keep it up!

You can run the country POI at the same time as your flags flashcards. For the countries POI, Doman recommends reading only one piece of information from each card for each session.
The countries can be printed out or shown digitally on your computer. The digital format I created is meant to be read like a book. You can focus on one country each day and return to the first one again after going through everything once.
From Divya Singhania Agarwal:
How do i go about this? Do i taken out the print outs and show him one country at a time? I am currently showing him the flags of the world. Should i first complete all 195 countries then introduce each country details as a book? what would be your suggestion?-
Speed flashing refers to the flashcards for speedplay and brain activation. In this case, speed is essential. It is also recommended not to flash too slowly when teaching reading because children get bored easily since they learn very quickly.

There are two ways to teach knowledge to your child which Doman explains with his Bits of Intelligence and Programs of Intelligence (both fall under the encyclopedic knowledge program).
-
Bits of intelligence (BOI) focuses on teaching “breadth” of knowledge. For instance, all of these items are musical instruments – piano, bagpipes, organ, harmonica, etc. It helps your child learn to build knowledge on the classifications of groups of things. This type of teaching is done quickly to hold your child’s attention. It can also begin earlier with a younger child.
-
Programs of Intelligence (POI) focuses on teaching “depth” of knowledge. For instance, the piano was invented in Italy; it was originally called the pianoforte because it could play both softly and loudly; it has 230 strings; etc. This type of teaching helps your child learn more about a certain thing within a group of things.
-
While POI is definitely slower than BOI, the goal is still to teach quickly. However, do not sacrifice clarity for speed. As long as you can read the words clearly without stumbling – that is how fast you should go. But because this is slower than BOI, it is recommended to be started when your child is older – at least 8 months. Beginning with topics that your child has an interest in will also help to preserve their attention and improve your success. Finally, we also cover less – for example, only a few instruments and a few pieces of information about each instrument, each session. This helps you to hold your child’s attention.

Hi Nidhi Nidhi – in answer to your questions…
-
1. Yes, four weeks is a bit long. The Doman program only stays on addition for 10 days before moving on to subtraction. It would be better to do addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, then back to addition and repeat rather than stay on the same topic for too long. In terms of the brain’s learning, the rotation works better.
-
2. Unfortunately, there are no other websites that I have seen which provide more clarification on the Doman math program after the first 50 days and we can only extrapolate from Doman’s recommendations. If anyone else is aware of anything, please do share.
Thank you, Sowjanya. I’m really glad to hear that.
