Full notes and explanations are covered in the Right Brain Education Home Practice Guidelines. The following post outlines suggested Right Brain Education activities you can follow on each day of the week with resources attached. Practice for 5 days of the week and take a break for the other two days. Resume your activities the following week.

Relaxation

Senses Games

Refer to the post Right Brain Activity: Senses Play for the instructions on how to play the following games:

  • Day 1 – HSP Game
  • Day 2 – Telepathy
  • Day 3 – Clairvoyance
  • Day 4 – Hand Reading
  • Day 5 – Precognition

Imaging

Refer to the post Right Brain Activity: Image Play for the instructions on how to play the following games:

  • Day 1 – Orange Card
  • Day 2 – PhotoEyePlay
  • Day 3 – Basic Image
  • Day 4 – Pretend Play
  • Day 5 – Imaginary Story

Memory Games

The following memory games can be played every day:

Speed Play

The following flashcards should be shown once a day for five days. Flash one card per second. Refer to the post Right Brain Activity: Speed Play for full details.

Reading

The RBE Home Practice Guidelines do not suggest a program for teaching reading directly so I recommend following Doman’s Reading Program. You can follow the program as outlined by Glenn Doman in his book How to Teach Your Baby to Read or you can follow the BrillKids Little Reader Program. You can also focus on Doman’s Reading flashcards, taking one topic a week starting this week with:

  • Parts of the Body – there are 25 words in this set which can be divided into 5 sets of five words that can be reviewed three times daily.

Math

Reinforce the concept with counters or an abacus. Show and count quantities from 1 to 10 with physical objects.

You may also refer to Shichida’s Math Program or use the BrillKids Little Math program if you have the program.

Eye Training

Follow the eye training activity outlined in Right Brain Activities: Eye Training. Begin with the simplest card and practice for no more than 1 minute. For the first week, stay with the same card.

Music

If you have the BrillKids Little Musician Program, I would encourage you to use that for this section because it is a great program covering many aspects of music. Alternatively, refer to our Right Brain Activities Music Play post to introduce:

  • One musical note – begin with C (sing it, play it, listen to it, feel it)
  • A musical instrument – e.g. the Piano (listen to “C” on the piano). Learn about the piano:
  • A famous composer – e.g. Bach (listen to a musical piece in the Key of C by Bach – e.g. Prelude in C Major)

Physical

These are suggestions for easy physical activities you can help your child follow along to. Infants can move in the arms of adults. If your child finds certain songs more engaging and would prefer to repeat them, that is fine, too. You can also create your own physical activities or follow a program like Brain Gym. The key here is large muscle movements and motor coordination.

Manual Dexterity

Many children today find it difficult to learn how to write because they do not have the physical strength in their fingers to manipulate a writing instrument. Encourage physical play at a play-ground to build the large muscle groups, while developing manual dexterity and fine motor skills with the following activities:

  • Day 1: Play Dough – Encourage your child to squeeze, stretch, pinch and roll “snakes” or “worms” with the play clay. Up-cycle your kitchen utensils and introduce the rolling pin, garlic press, and cookie cutters!
  • Day 2: Sand Play (or flour play) – Write letters or draw pictures. If you have kinetic sand, build structures with it!
  • Day 3: Water Play – Practice pouring water with jugs; squeezing water out of a sponge; use eye droppers to transfer water or mix coloured water together.
  • Day 4: Painting – Finger paint, Batik painting, let your child get messy while learning how to apply paint with a brush or hands.
  • Day 5: Lego Construction – younger children will find it easier to use Duplo blocks. As their finger dexterity improves, you can slowly migrate to Lego pieces as they present a greater challenge for dexterity.

  1. Hi Dr…
I m Rahila from India.. Hope you are good.. I want to subscribe for premium membership for a month …As my child is just 7 months old..I want to just go through it to understand the applicability for my child… so clarify me whether premium membership is autorenewable for every month …and is it possible to upgrade one-year membership to lifetime by Jus payin 30 $

    1. Hi Rahila,

Premium membership is auto-renewable until you cancel your membership. We do not have an upgrade feature available. If you would like to change to the yearly membership, you will have to cancel your monthly membership and sign up again for the yearly membership.

      1. Thank you dr… Is it possible to cancel the auto renewable membership at any time

      2. Yes. You may cancel any time. Once you cancel, your membership will continue until the end of the billing period before expiring.

  2. hi mam,i am doing rbe with my3 year old daughter which u r mentioning in your page.u r my great inspiration ..having a doubt regarding sequential linking memory mam..she is learning 10slides/week and i add next 10 slides next week, now she is able to recall 100 words sequentially which is a great success for me..now what next mam?whether to contnue the next 100 slides along with this or should i start new without recalling those old 100 slides?dont know im doing right or not ?kindly help regarding this mam…

    1. For sequential linking memory, you should keep adding to the existing story so from 100 to 110 to 120 and so on. The goal should be to reach 1000 cards in sequence.

  3. Thank u for ur reply..Ok mam.daily we need to recall from first slide right mam?

  4. Hello ma’am,
My kid is 28 months now.. whenever we do picture flash cards he wants to repeat every word I say.. it takes around 2 second per card.. is this okay in RBE method??

    1. Hi Preeti,

In all early learning activities, my primary principle is to follow your child’s lead. If he wants to repeat the words, I would let him. Even though speed is recommended, more important than that is your child’s interest and attention.

  5. Hi mam..my son is 16 months old …I felt some of the memory games cannot done by his own for now…is it ok to be done later?

    1. Yes. While many of these memory games are played even in the infant classes in RBE schools, the children usually are not expected to answer. They watch their parents play and this is how they learn. For home practice, you can begin them later when your child is older and ready to participate.

  6. Hi Dr…
I m interested to subscribe for lifetime member. have noticed discount coupon entry about to do payment.kindly mention where Shall i access for discount coupon…

    Regards
    Rahila

    1. Hi Rahila – I do not have discount coupons. These membership prices are already at the lowest I can offer them. Thank you for your interest.

  7. Hii.. can u please tell me where shall I start for my 20months old..? He is not concentrating at all…

    1. For 20 months old, focus mainly on the input activities (the activities that do not require a response from your child) – such as flashcards for Speedplay. Read the tips from Shichida on https://rightbrainchild.com/2020/06/15/activity-speed-play/

      Few points to remember:
      1. Break up the sessions if you need to work in shorter time periods.
      2. Flash quickly and with an enthusiastic voice.
      3. Choose a time when your child is well-rested and not hungry or distracted by other concerns.
      4. If you can’t get through a lot today, don’t worry. Stop and restart another time.
      5. If you have a fidgety child, sometimes giving them something to fidget with their hands can help.
      6. Remember that young children’s brains are like lanterns – the field of concentration works in a 360-degree fashion (https://rightbrainchild.com/2020/06/20/babies-brains-what-parents-should-know/#lantern)

  8. Hi…my daughter is 23months and we have started with picture flash cards as of now i was doing 1 category 10 cards, wanted to know how many cards per category should i flash n also what all other activities should we start with and in what order i.e picture cards then reading cards then???

  9. Hi mam,
This weekly plan is super useful. How to introduce Geography to my 26 months old son?So far I have introduced many basics to him through speed flashing. How to make him understand about culture and all…Is it right time to start or shall I start it little later?

    1. Hi Sangamithi,

You can certainly start now by introducing the cultures of each country – through tasting the food, doing arts and crafts, folk music, and learning a few words from the national language of the country. Have a look at the ideas from here: https://rightbrainchild.com/rbe-supplementary-activities-and-materials/

At this age, he will still need a lot of assistance from you but it will be a great bonding experience for you to do these things together.

  10. Hi Shen lee maam,

This is Saumya from India. I have just subscribed to right brain child and went through the lesson plans. Quite amazing. I feel a little overwhelmed. My baby is 6.5 months old and I wanted to ask out of all the activities which are the ones that I should focus on?

    1. Hi Miiro. Whether using digital or physical cards is a personal preference- some children respond better to digital cards (PowerPoint) and some to physical cards, while some are fine with either. I, personally, used a mix of physical and digital cards. I found PowerPoint helpful for fast flashing and when my child wanted to be on my lap.

      1. Thanks for the response. I just got my membership, I thought I would find the lesson plans in chronological order but it happens not to be the case. Where can I access recourses from week 1 to the next and the next?

  11. Hi Dr.
As i Know , these materials are used for children under 3 years old. are there any materials for kid from 3 to 6 years old

    1. Hi Nhung,

RBE is intended for children up to 6 years old. Some of these activities are too difficult for younger children to do on their own. The idea is to show them how it’s done when they’re younger and repeat the activities again as they grow older and are able to do them by themselves. This builds the learning and reinforces it. If you haven’t already, it is worthwhile reading this post: https://rightbrainchild.com/2020/09/08/working-with-younger-children/
