    1. Hi Nashi – the files are Microsoft Powerpoint files. They can be opened in:

      1. Microsoft Powerpoint
      2. Open Office – This software is free to use (download here: https://www.openoffice.org/download/).
      3. Google Slides – You will need a google account which is free to sign up for. Upload the file to your google drive to open it.

  1. Thanks alot for being so generous in sharing these flash cards but i m not able to download any..it says M…please help

    1. Hi Heama – if you click the link, it should take you to a page with two buttons – “import” or “download”. If you click “download” it should download the file to your computer.

  2. Omg, this is an amazing compilation; I am keen to try downloading it on my computer!! Tks for sharing!!!

  3. Hi I am not able to print the text from the sllides but can print the pictures, is there anything I have to do tweak to print both images and print

    1. Hi Saan,

Are they all not printing the text? I checked a few and they were fine. Could you let me know while files were not working for you? Perhaps I have not checked the right one.

      1. Shen Li thank you for your prompt response, I tried colors and it only printed the colors and not the text, I havent tried the others as this is the first one I tried to print and was stuck there.

      2. Hi Saan,

I am not sure why that’s happening because it came out for me – both the picture and text were printed. Can you try downloading the file first before printing? Or could it be the page size? Maybe the text doesn’t fit so it doesn’t get printed? I’m just thinking off the top of my head since I can’t replicate the problem.

  4. HI Shen, I tried downloading the doc but that didnt help either, Dont understand what the issue is, 🙁

    1. Hi Saan, I still can’t figure out why the words are not printing for you. My only guess is that maybe the paper size setting it off so it gets missed? Is there a way to adjust the print size with your printer settings? Maybe make it smaller or the “fit to page” setting?

  5. Hi Shen-Li

A huge Thank you for this beautiful compilation. I have a doubt regarding the reading program.

Can I start showing alphabets ( sounds) and single words together.

    1. Hi Jnapika,

Doman did not recommend introducing alphabets because he felt it was meaningless to very young children. His focus was always to teach reading recognition of words before the introduction of alphabets. Doman’s reading program is a “whole word” recognition program which has the advantage of helping children learn to pick up reading faster. Other programs like BrillKids combine both “whole words” and “phonics” (alphabet sounds) which is thought to be more complete as phonics helps children with spelling later.

  6. hi.. I am new to this.
got this link from right brain education group in FB
. went through the cards avail here.
can u guide me on how to use these?
for example the dinosaurs cards have picture alternating with word.. how to flash them
and in periodic table also there is picture and word ..how to flash them .pls guide. thanks

    1. Hi Gowthami. You can use the cards digitally as a slide presentation or you can print them out to use them physically as flashcards.

There are two formats for the flashcards because one was created to focus on teaching the words and the other was created for brain activation (focussing on the images rather than the words). The words are included below the picture so that the parent can read them while flashing on screen.

Depending on what your focus is – reading or brain activation, you may use either format for flashing. All methods are fine as long as you keep the pace quick and the process fun.

  7. Hi Dr…
Thanks for your generosity…u r a remarkable person in my parental journey. I m quite interested in speed play flashcards for my 10 MO old.. Kindly clarify my doubts
    1. Whether it work out for my 10 Mths old

    2. Shall i apply this in maths ND reading program

    3. Hw many cards per session in a day and about retirement of cards in speed play… (apart from doman) do you have any suggestions.

    4. Shall i add name of the image in speed play consecutively in next slide

    5. Glenn or schidha.. Which is age appropriate maths program for my 10 Mths old

    Kindly provide your valuable information..

    Regards
    Dr. Rahila

  8. Hi Rahila,

Yes. Flashcards can be used for 10 months old. All RBE programs usually start from 6 months onwards. Doman Reading and Math can begin as early as 3 months. Flashcards can be used for speed play, reading, and math. Shichida recommends starting from 100 cards a day and gradually increasing over time to 1000 cards a day. Speed play is not for teaching knowledge but for brain activation so the decision when to retire the cards is arbitrary. I usually recommend one session a day and retiring cards weekly. If you cannot complete all the cards in one session, then break them up. Words can be on the same card or separately, that is also a matter of preference. Both will work.

    Hope that helps.

  9. Thank you mam…
Bt my doubt is whether speed play can be used for reading program, maths and encyclopedic cards… Instead of manual flashing… I m confused… Whether speed play is different concept… Bcoz i m using digital cards for maths,gk,nd encyclopedia cards… Tat is 0.5 -1sec per card… I consider it as speed play…..

    Thank you

    1. Hi Rahila – all flashcards should be shown quickly, but the emphasis is different. Speedplay is focussed on quantity, speed, and images rather than knowledge building. Knowledge building requires more repetition and less flashcards per sitting. The speed should be fast, but it is not critical. The term Speedplay is a descriptor for differentiation rather than to be taken literally.

  10. Shen-Li,
Thank you so much for all these flashcards.Your work is amazing. Its been of great help for lot of them

  11. Hi! I just subscribed!

I am applying Glen Doman to my child right now (reading). Is it different from speed reading?
My baby is just 15 months old. What if he is bored when I show 150 words a day. Also, 150 words is shown once daily for 4 days? And i will print another 150 after 4 days?
